Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or overwhelming emotions?

Have you tried to establish a mindfulness practice on your own but found it not helpful or difficult to maintain?

We have all heard about the benefits of mindfulness for mental health but most people find it impossible to establish a regular practice especially when they are coming to it at times of instability and when their lives are in crisis.

The course was designed to help people looking for mindfulness tools to manage or improve their mental health but need the support and motivation to establish this new habit.

One of the biggest challenges that prevents people from experiencing the benefits of mindfulness practice is the confusion about how we define mindfulness is when it comes to regulating overwhelming and difficult emotions like anxiety, depression and trauma. This course aims to clarify how we define mindfulness and encourage motivation to establish a regular practice.

What will you learn?

Through this practical training, students will learn the following:

  • Psychoeducation about regulating emotions through mindful awareness.
  • Understand the myths and misconceptions about mindfulness.
  • Short, guided meditations that can be used in daily life
  • Understand trauma informed practices and concepts for feeling safe in the body

Who is this course for?

This course is for you if you...

  • Need tools to manage mental health issues like anxiety and depression
  • Have tried mindfulness practices but find it hard to establish a regular routine.
  • Need psychoeducational support to experience the benefits of mindfulness.
  • Are feeling stressed and overwhelmed and feel that traditional mindfulness approaches don’t work for you.
  • Need motivation and structure to re-engage with a mindfulness practice during a time of stress.

Mindfulness Training for Emotional Resilience was designed by Rachael Frankford, MSW, a clinical social worker and mindfulness teacher who understands the challenges that clients face when adopting mindfulness practices for mental health. She works with clients and helping professionals dealing with trauma and brings a practical, trauma-informed approach to teaching mindfulness skills. Her goal is to create mindfulness programs for mental health that are accessible to diverse populations who need support for self care.

Please consult your doctor or mental health provider if challenges arise while establishing a mindfulness practice for mental health.
